Shopify Store Redesign Checklist
A redesign should improve how customers shop and how the internal team manages the store. Before changing themes or visuals, review navigation, mobile usability, product templates, integrations, checkout, speed and measurement. This checklist helps define the work before development begins.
Define the shopping journey first
A new theme does not fix an unclear catalogue or a confusing path to checkout. Start with the pages customers use most and the tasks the team needs to complete after handover.
- Homepage, collection and product templates that explain the offer quickly
- Navigation that matches how customers look for products
- Mobile layouts that keep the path to checkout short
- Content and imagery that answer common buying questions
Check the systems around the storefront
The redesign should also cover the tools and processes the team will use after launch:
- Apps and integrations that are still required
- Checkout checks, payment and shipping settings
- Page speed and Core Web Vitals on key templates
- Analytics events that show what happens after launch
- Handover documentation so the internal team can manage the store
Write the scope before development starts
A useful Shopify brief names the pages, templates, integrations, testing and handover work included in the project. That keeps the redesign focused on shopping and operations, not only visual change.
